The channel will become an always-on interactive content portal to bring all MDL Beast’s live experiences to a digital audience.
Experience design agency Imagination has launched Saudi Arabia’s first-ever music streaming channel, Beast TV.
The channel was launched by entertainment company MDL Beast at the Soundstorm Festival.
The launch of Beast TV in Saudi Arabia is reflective of the Kingdom’s investment in music, culture and entertainment, said Ross Wheeler, creative director at Imagination.
Ross Wheeler, Business Director and Head of Live UK at Imagination said: “After working with MDL Beast over the last couple of years, we are incredibly excited to have created and launched Beast TV with the first-ever use of live spatial audio during a live-streamed festival, and to support the team as they innovate on a global platform and embrace new technologies.”
The platform, which has been built for scale, can stream to more than 1m concurrent viewers. The channel offers both local and international music with a focus on electronic music, as well as content from the world of entertainment and culture as well.
Ben Sinden, Executive Director of Media at MDL Beast added: “It’s an incredibly exciting time in Saudi Arabia right now and creating a platform that can share live music in the most technically advanced way is exactly where we want to be.”
“Saudi is changing fast, and this is a perfect moment to highlight, celebrate and share these changes through the rich and diverse music scene, and artists that are emerging in the region. The Saudis we spoke to at the event — many of whom had travelled back to their homeland for this — were there because it marked such a significant moment, even if electronic music was not their first love,” Wheeler added.
Following the success of its launch, the Beast TV channel will become a permanent platform, bringing all of MDL Beast’s live experiences to digital audiences, in addition to other interactive content.
