The convention was scheduled to take place from March 25-28 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The first edition of VidCon has been postponed over coronavirus concerns. The event will now take place from December 16 to 19.
Confirmed guests for March included cosmetics and beauty tutorial megastars Huda Kattan and Mona Kattan; actor Alex Wassabi; regional sister act Rawan and Rayan; UN Youth Peace Ambassador and filmmaker Brent Rivera; dance legend Matt Steffanina, among other.
In an official statement on their website, Jim Louderback, General Manager, VidCon, said: “VidCon is dedicated to delivering premium entertainment experiences across the globe and is determined to create an unforgettable inaugural VidCon Abu Dhabi 2020 event. Our priority is the safety and health of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, creators, and staff. In light of the recent health precautions taken by authorities worldwide to manage the current global health risks, VidCon Abu Dhabi will be postponed to December 16th-19th 2020.”
Those who already have tickets and want to keep them for December will get a free companion ticket. Those who’d prefer to cancel altogether will be entitled to a full refund.
