- The AV professionals in the region (for a phototour of InfoComm MEA 2011, visit http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/AVPro-Middle-East/188800204528477) did the industry proud and put on a memorable show at the inaugural InfoComm MEA 2011. On entry, the sleek conference table of Arthur Holm set the right tone for an AV event. Sennheiser along with their partners, gave visitors a walk-through experience of their solutions for conferencing, live events and museum tours, among other areas. Brands from across the globe find a need to exhibit here and that is good news for both the region and the organisers. Australian Monitor have their agents across the region, but found it useful to be exhibiting their latest range of amplifiers. The sentiment was shared by other exhibitors with Parag Vadodaria of Zio Technologies saying, “The event was very useful. Not only did we meet with our regular partners, the event attracted a whole lot of integrators from other parts of the Middle East.”
While the 2012 event will be held in a dedicated hall for three days, there will be enough room and more for spectacles of the likes that Arrive put up making InfoComm MEA a thoroughly engaging event. Visitors could experience video conferencing with impeccable clarity. Rohit Lohia of Arrive described the response as overwhelming and the investment in the display worth every Dirham. Elsewhere, quiet partnerships were being forged to tap into the growing AV market in the region that is expected to reach $3.14 billion by 2012. Thomas Heydrich of d&b audiotechnik spoke of plans of expanding in the region based on his partnership with a Lebanese-based firm. Visitors to InfoComm reflected the diverse nature of the industry. From military officials from Oman to educationists from KSA, there is a growing appreciation of the need to integrate AV technologies in their everday routine. Manufacturers were responding – from the versatile microtiles of Christie Digital to the display units from Samsung and Mitsubishi Electric. Walking the talk with value addition features was Sharp with their venue maps all across Gitex. Creating enduring value were the industry conferences and academy seminars with topics that ranged from making the most of your AV spend to 3D technology in hospitals and universities.
