Grammy Award winner, international recording artist and entrepreneur, will.i.am, will be the opening speaker at this years IBC 2012. It has been announced that the pop star will give a talk on the role of technology in the creative process. The keynote will be co-hosted by Intel Corporations Johan Jervøe, vice president of the sales and marketing group.
The session, titled Creativity and Technology Forces Combine Transcend the Barriers of Convention and Rethink What Can Be Achieved, will involve will.i.ams personal stories and illustrations surrounding his career to show how important technology can be within a creative process, and how it can generate new ideas and inspiration.
IBC reported that Will.i.am said: We want people to rethink what they believe is possible. I’m always thinking about tomorrow. Technology allows us to amplify our ideas, amplify our creativity, and find new ways of solving our problems and genuinely start living in those future tomorrows, and that’s what I want to share at IBC.
Intel Corporation appointed will.i.am as director of creative innovation in January 2011. In this role, he collaborates with Intel scientists, programmers and marketing team members on a company-wide basis to innovate and promote content, technology and hardware strategies.
Will.i.am is an avid user of social media, using these platforms to communicate with his fan base. He is also an advocate for STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education.
The keynote session will take place on 7 September at 2pm at the RAI Convention Centre, Amsterdam.
