The Digital Switchover in Nigeria, known as Free TV has been launched in Kwara and Kaduna states.
Inview Nigeria, involved in both launches, has supported Nigeria’s National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) from the early stages of the process, both technically and operationally, the release stated. Inviews software and services will be integrated onto all of the set-top boxes for the Nigeria digital switchover.
Commenting on the digital switchover, Nick Markham, Chairman of Inview said: We are delighted that the NBC have continued the roll out to both Kwara and Kaduna states following on from the launches in Jos and Abuja in 2016. We look forward to continuing to support the NBC in achieving Digital Switchover in Nigeria and transforming the TV viewing experience.
The ceremony in Ilorin, Kwara state, took place at the premises of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the launch in Kaduna took place at the Pinnacle Broadcast Ltd premises.
The events were attended by the ministers, dignitaries as well as digital switchover stakeholders including Inview Nigerias CEO, Olumade Adesemowo.
The digital switchover is expected to roll out to a further two states within the next couple of months.
