French market research firm Ipsos has confirmed it is in talks with Kantar Media over a potential acquisition of the London-based group, reported Reuters. A statement by the company read: “There can be no certainty that any offer will be made, nor as to the terms on which any such offer might be made.”
A sale of Kantar could be worth over €1bn. Its largest shareholders are US private equity firm Bain Capital and advertising and communications company WPP. Kantar Media is a division of the Kantar Group. It specialises in comprehensive media research and audience measurement services. Operating in over 60 markets worldwide, Kantar Media provides insights into audience behaviors across various media platforms, including television, radio, print, digital, and social media.
