Irdeto has announced that Doug Lowther will be assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer following Graham Kills resignation in September 2014 to pursue new opportunities based out of his native UK. Lowther joins Irdeto from International Datacasting Corporation (IDC), where he currently serves as CEO. Prior to IDC, Lowther was EVP of Irdetos Digital TV business and had been with the company for over nine years.
With extensive experience in digital television, IP-based services and security products, Lowther will strengthen Irdetos position in providing solutions for pay TV operators, over-the-top service providers, and content owners. He joins the company during a period of tremendous opportunity, evidenced by the success of its new offerings in attracting new tier-1 customers such as Liberty Global, Premier League and Charter Communications. Lowther will play a crucial leadership role in advancing this progress and further enhancing Irdetos portfolio.

At IDC, Lowther led the restructuring of the business and renewed the companys business strategy, product portfolio and leadership team. During his previous service with Irdeto, Mr. Lowther drove the creation of a product portfolio that achieved substantial revenue growth and subsequently led Irdetos Digital TV business as well as its global Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Development teams. Prior to joining Irdeto, Lowther held several executive roles with Nortel Networks, where he was Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Applications and the Vice President of Strategic Marketing. He has a global perspective, having lived and worked in Canada, France, Singapore, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and China. Lowther will be based in the Irdeto Hoofddorp office in his role as CEO.
Additionally, Irdeto recently appointed Andrew Bunten as Chief Financial Officer effective February 1, 2015. Prior to joining Irdeto, Andy was the CFO for Hewlett-Packard’s cloud business, shepherding the company’s strategic investment from the start-up phase to early maturity. Andys experiences are particularly relevant for Irdeto as it continues its expansion of various managed services embracing cloud infrastructures.
