The combined service allows streaming platforms to optimise pricing, reduce churn and maximise customer value while maintaining top-tier content security.
Evergent and Irdeto, a specialist in digital platform cybersecurity, have expanded their partnership to drive strategic service bundling and data-driven monetisation for media companies and pay-TV operators. Irdeto has selected Evergent as a key technology partner for subscription management and monetisation within the Irdeto Experience Platform, a streaming aggregation platform enabling next-generation viewer experiences — powering enhanced customer insights, best-in-class security and operational efficiency for OTT providers.
According to PwC research, global OTT video subscriptions are expected to reach 2.1bn by 2028, growing at a 5% CAGR. However, the average revenue per subscription will only slightly increase from $65.21 in 2023 to $67.66 in 2028. As the focus shifts from subscriber growth to retention and profitability due to macroeconomic challenges, streaming companies and pay-TV operators are diversifying their content and services to enhance customer loyalty and maximise revenue per user. Effective bundling and super aggregation are essential for media organisations and OTT providers looking to deepen customer relationships and offer value-added services, including niche content, gaming and IoT devices.
Speaking about the expanded partnership, Vijay Sajja, Founder and CEO of Evergent, said: “Streaming subscribers need to see more value from their services and feel understood with personalized, intuitive experiences. Deepening our partnership with Irdeto allows our mutual customers to diversify their service offerings seamlessly, leveraging next-generation data analytics and advanced churn prevention tools to maximise revenues and loyalty.”
Doug Lowther, CEO of Irdeto, added: “Tier-one media companies and content providers must deliver more comprehensive, user-centric streaming propositions to retain audiences and grow new revenues. Our partnership with Evergent equips Irdeto Experience with rich and agile monetization tools that power unique user experiences, future-ready analytics, and revenue game-changers for OTT providers.”
Irdeto’s platform enables pay-TV operators and media companies to quickly and securely launch hybrid OTT services across various devices, including Android TV or RDK set-top boxes, smart TVs and mobile devices. The partnership with Evergent, initially announced in September 2023, allows streaming providers to bring innovative, tailored content offerings to market rapidly while optimising revenue through flexible monetisation and dynamic personalisation capabilities.
