As co-founder and CEO of Istikana, Samer Abdin led the team, drove business and product development along with raising multiple rounds of VC financing.
Samer Abdin, former CEO of SVOD platform Istikana, has joined STARZPLAY as Chief Product Officer (CPO). In this new role, Abdin will be responsible for further developing the product from a technology and features point of view with the aim of ensuring that the platform is on a par with other global streaming services and will elevate the customers experience further.
Commenting on his new role, Abdin said: “I am excited to join a great team at STARZPLAY. I look forward to building on an already amazing service and taking the MENA region’s leading OTT platform to the next level.”
Abdin was most recently employed at online portal Dubizzle as General Manager but he is more well known for leading Istikana in his role as CEO and driving its business and product development, along with raising multiple rounds of VC financing.
Before co-founding Istikana, Abdin worked as an early growth consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in Dubai.
