Digital and sports entertainment provider in MENA, Intigral, has witnessed an upswing in the viewership of Jawwy TV, its flagship service and OTT digital entertainment platform, in line with the ‘Stay at Home’ advisory initiated by the Kingdom’s government to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Jawwy TV reportedly recorded a significant rise in weekly consumption and viewership rates. From March 22nd onwards, Intigral claims its Jawwy TV app saw a 47% spike in average weekly consumption hours as compared to a similar period preceding that. In parallel, the number of unique viewers rose by 42% over the said period.
Commenting on the growth, Intigral’s CEO, Hamoud AlRumayan said: “Globally, TV channels and VOD platforms have posted record growth levels in screen time following the solemn calls of governments for residents to restrict all nonessential outings. Meanwhile, Jawwy TV remains committed to its duty to the community by providing iEN channels on Jawwy TV to support students’ remote learning experience.”
