The film follows the life of world-renowned Italian artist and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani and the series of events that changed his life forever
Johnny Depp has unveiled first-look images of his latest directorial Modi, marking his return to the director’s chair after decades. Depp’s last directorial endeavour was the 1997 feature The Brave.
The film Modi, a creative collaboration between Johnny Depp and Al Pacino, has recently concluded its shoot and is supported by the Red Sea Film Foundation. In this cinematic venture, Al Pacino assumes a supporting role as real-life French art collector Maurice Gangnat.
Modi takes audiences on a journey into the life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, unfolding in a 48-hour whirlwind of chaos amid the streets and bars of war-torn Paris during World War I. Fleeing from the authorities, Modi’s aspiration to conclude his career and depart the city is met with resistance from fellow Bohemians. The narrative reaches a crescendo when Modi encounters a collector capable of altering the course of his life.
The ensemble cast features Riccardo Scamarcio, Antonia Desplat, Stephen Graham, Bruno Gouery, Ryan McParland, Luisa Ranieri, and Sally Phillips. Depp’s European production company, IN.2, spearheads the film’s production, with the experienced Barry Navidi serving as the producer.
