Jordanian comedy-drama series Jalta is returning for its fifth season in Ramadan after the success of the previous seasons.
During Ramadan 2023, Roya Media Group (RMG) will premier a new season titled Jalta: Kebrat Al-Eileh on the Roya screen and on the Watch IT streaming platform.
After a successful Ramadan 2022, Jalta received the highest local ratings, according to Ipsos, and achieved 62m online views, including 20m in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking about the show, Eng. Fares Sayegh, RMG’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am proud and happy with the success achieved by all seasons of the Jalta TV series. This success obliges Roya Media Group to continue meeting the expectations of its audience, by offering TV series that interest the Arab family and continue to work on expanding our TV production efforts.”
The series is created and written by The Creative Lab and executed by The Show, both of which operate under RMG. Jalta is a dramatic sitcom that discusses and presents Arab family situations.
The first four seasons of Jalta were widely shared on Jordanian and Arab social media, and its high viewership makes it one of the most popular Arabic series, the company said.
The series stars Amal Dabbas, Zuhair Al Nobani, Mohammad Kheir al-Jarrah, Jenny Esber, Sharif Zoubi, Lea Mbardi, Zeina Khresat, and Maya Saidi. The Syrian superstar Wafa Mosalli and the young talent Sara Khasawneh will be joining the Jalta family in its next season.
