Eccho Rights has also licensed the title across a string of Eastern European territories.
The Turkish daily drama series Redemption has been greenlit for a third season by Turkish broadcaster Kanal 7.
Hailing from the production house Karamel Yapım, the series made its debut in November 2022, capturing the hearts of audiences and emerging as a top-rated programme for the network. The first season boasted an impressive 207 episodes, each spanning 45 minutes, while the ongoing second season is currently on air and is slated for production until the summer, comprising a total of 273 episodes. Anticipation is now building for the forthcoming third season, scheduled to premiere in September 2024, with a whopping 280 episodes already commissioned.
The success of Redemption extends beyond the Turkish borders, with distributor Eccho Rights securing licensing deals across multiple Eastern European territories. Countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, Israel, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro are among those set to indulge in the narrative and performances of the series.
Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish drama at Eccho Rights, said: “Redemption is a classic example of a series that succeeds because of great storytelling, and even though it has a more modest budget than some, the production is high quality, the performances from the cast are compelling and each episode is unmissable.”
