Karl Hijazi joins Avid as Professional Services Delivery Manager

 

After a long career with Sony that spanned more than 20 years, Karl Hijazi has now joined Avid’s Middle East as Professional Services Delivery Manager. As part of the Avid Global Services Organisation, Hijazi’s role will focus on managing the delivery and performance of Professional Services business to clients across the Middle East region. He will support the sales organisation to win services business, and will also manage and develop the delivery team. Hijazi will be based in Avid’s Dubai office.

Hijazi joins Avid after 12 years at Sony Professional Solutions MEA in roles including Key Account?Management, Senior Bid Management and Project / Programme Management. Hijazi was responsible for developing and securing key solutions and services business including large projects for twofour54, OSN, Dubai TV, Al Jazeera, ADMC, and ERT. He was in charge of Key Account and Bid Management for the UAE Armed Forces in Abu Dhabi, and was at the forefront of developing Sony’s Content Creation propositions, focusing on 4K Live Production and in particular Sony’s IP Live solutions and core infrastructure for the next generation Sports and Entertainment segments.

Prior to this, he spent 13 years at Sony Europe, based in the UK, where he managed a number of high-profile broadcast projects and service engagements including the MBC’s relocation from the UK to Dubai and the ART Avezzano Playout centre in Italy. He started his career at Sony as a project engineer working on systems integration.
