Since its release over Eid al-Adha, Kira & El Gin has earned a total of EGP 70m ($3.71m) in two weeks, making it one of the top ten highest-earning films in Egyptian cinema.
Kira & El Gin is an action drama movie, starring Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel-Aziz, along with Hend Sabry, Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Malik, Lara Iskandar, and Hoda al-Mufti, Ali Qassem.
Directed by Marwan Hamed, the film is based on a novel by Ahmed Murad of the same name.
Kira & El Gin is inspired by the novel “1919” written by Murad, and is the story of a group of Egyptian resistance fighters against the British occupation at the time of the 1919 revolution until 1924, who fought battles and made sacrifices for independence.
