Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have agreed in principle to boost exchange of Islamic television programmes to be aired in both countries.
Malaysias Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said Saudi Arabia had many Islamic programmes and also good channels which were suitable to be broadcast in Malaysia.
He added that Islamic programmes and channels would be well-received in Malaysia and it would be better if telecast directly from Saudi Arabia.
“We also produce many good programmes and I believe they will be well accepted if aired in Arabian countries,” he told Bernama after a meeting with the Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture and Information, Dr Abdul Aziz Muhiuddin Khoja, on the sidelines of the Asia Media Summit (AMS) in Jeddah.
