The Ladima Foundation has launched a database of women professionals in film, TV and content across Africa. Dubbed The A List – it is reported that more than 150 women submitted their details in less than 24 hours of the list being announced.
The aim is to make the list the most comprehensive database of professional women in film in Africa, the release stated.
The release also stated that the purpose of compiling and sharing the list was to encourage companies to hire women, especially in technical roles.
The Ladima Foundation, a non-profit organisation, is committed to supporting women in the film and content industries, The list was reportedly suggested at the recent Women of Influence panel at DISCOP Zanzibar held earlier this year.
The list will be shared widely with companies and agencies who may be looking for women to work on various productions and projects.
