Celebrated Iranian director Behrouz Vossoughi will conduct a week-long master class in acting from April 7-12 at Alliance Francaise in Dubai. Documentary Voices, a non-profit initiative aimed at encouraging the making of local documentaries, is behind this project along with Iran TV network.
Vossoughis visit to Dubai coincides with the fifth edition of the Gulf Film Festival, which will run from the April 10-16.
After the success of last years master class by Abbas Kiarostami in collaboration with the Gulf Film Festival (GFF), we are confident about an optimistic response by the citys cosmopolitan residents especially the young generation stated Mahshid Zamani, managing director of Documentary Voices.
Dubai is the perfect city to have acting and film-related workshops. We have such a bright and creative pool of talent based here that it is truly rewarding to see different communities make a difference to the regions expanding film and media industry, she added.
Upon successful completion and attendance of the workshop, participants will receive certificates from Behrouz Vossoughi on behalf of Documentary Voices and Gulf Film Festival.
Vossoughis latest film Rhinos Season with Monica Bellucci and directed by Bahman Ghobadi is currently in the post-production phase. It is expected to be released later this year. The film is a follow-up to Ghobadis 2009 hit number No One Knows about Persian Cats.
