Canal+ has meanwhile ceased all promotion of the French football championship on its channels.
The Paris Judicial Tribunal has ruled that beIN Sports must respect its contract in the broadcasting of Ligue 1 or risk penalties.
However, while this marks a victory for the Professional Football League (LFP), it is still unclear who will broadcast the start of the Ligue 1 season this Saturday and who will bear the cost.
It adds that the contract relates to the production, broadcasting and transmission of two Ligue 1 matches per round, under penalties of €1m per day of delay.
The sports channel launched a conciliation procedure at the end of July which places it under the protection of the Nanterre commercial court and prevents it for the moment from having to bear the financial burden of the contract with the LFP.
BeIN is expected to pay the LFP a tranche of €56m, the Nanterre court must rule on the termination on the part of Canal+ sub-licence contract that binds it to beIN.
