The LMGI Awards honour film commissions who have gone above and beyond during the scouting, pre-production and production of specific projects.
The Royal Film Commission-Jordan has been nominated for the Outstanding Film Commission award by the Location Managers Guild International Awards in its 11th edition. This nomination recognises their exceptional production services for the film Dune: Part Two.
Adapted from Frank Herbert’s seminal bestseller, parts of Dune: Part Two were filmed in Jordan in 2022, specifically in Wadi Rum, Wadi Araba, Aqaba and Al Thalithawat (eastern desert). These landscapes, which have always served as filming locations for international movies, were suited to represent parts of the world seen in the film.
Dune: Part Two marks director, producer and writer Denis Villeneuve’s third film shot in Jordan, following the Oscar-winning Dune, which was filmed in Jordan in 2019.
Dune: Part Two features a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson Josh Brolin, and many more.
The 11th annual LMGI Awards will take place on August 24 at The Wallis Annenberg Centre for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. The awards celebrate the outstanding visual contributions of location professionals in film, television, commercials and film commissions worldwide.
