Comedy Central, a division of VIACOM International Media Networks (VIMN), has announced the completion of Comedy Central Presents, which will premiere on OSN on February 5. The brand has teamed up with local talent from across the Middle East to create exclusive regional content which was produced and recorded live this week in Stereo Arcade, Dubai.
Comedy Central Presents is the first stand-up comedy production in the GCC, gathering 30 of the regions most promising Arab comedians. The diverse group is made up of both professional comedians and first-timers who will perform in Arabic and English, blending international and regional tastes.
The show is fronted by two high profile hosts: heavyweight comedian Ali Al Sayed, an Emirati who has performed on iconic stages such as Comic Strip Live and Broadway in New York; and Mo Amer, a pioneer of Arab-American comedian who has supported the legendary Dave Chappelle. The duo will present the selected acts, with each line-up drawing inspiration from a range of Middle Eastern traditions and cultures. Highlights of the show include Talal Al Sheikhi, Yaser Bakr, and Wissam Kamal, who will be debuting entirely fresh and laugh-out-loud material especially for the show.
The show will air exclusively on Comedy Central HD on OSN. It will consist of a total of five hours of stand-up composed of 10 half-hour episodes, each featuring three new artists.
