MAD Solutions, during the recent Amman Film Industry Days, awarded a distribution grant of $20,000 to Saeed Taji Farouki’s Jordanian feature project, Soon We Will Be History Here. This grant serves as a minimum guarantee in exchange for the film’s distribution and sales rights in the Arab world.
Soon We Will Be History Here is being produced by Maria Caruana Galizia of Candle and Bell Limited and co-produced by May Odeh and Tareq Abu-Lughod. The project has already secured production grants from the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) and the Royal Film Commission – Jordan.
The film’s storyline revolves around Suleiman, a quiet Gazan man who comes to the rescue of an injured peregrine falcon on his farm. He begins to believe that the bird is the reincarnation of his sister. However, when Hisham, a disheartened and lost teenager, becomes obsessed with the bird, a power struggle ensues over its companionship.
