We are Maersk series, a film produced by Copenhagen Film Company for Maersk Container Industry (MCI) won 14 international awards including a Gold medal at Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards. Done in a documentary-style movie, the film highlights the importance of shipping containers to the modern global economy.
For over 100 days, three teams from around the world worked to capture the Maersk story in the midst of machinery. In a hardware heavy industry, the corporate film brings out the softer side of Maersk by focusing on the human touch.
Our challenge was to do a corporate movie differently. We thought of doing this by structuring it in small mini chapters. By doing so, we had the ability to tell small specific stories which allowed us to go into the details of the human aspects of Maersk and the employees, says Director, Christoffer Boe.
The film emphasises the difference that containers can make to billions of people around the world by facilitating global trade. It also depicts crash tests where MCI seeks to ensure the quality and durability of containers in spite of harsh handling and environments.
There is a lot of attention to detail, technology and innovation that goes into one of MCIs containers. And thats what we try to capture say in the film, adds Boe.
