Majid Entertainment, the company behind the launch of Majid TV, took part of this year’s edition of MIPCOM in France. The company showcased the recently launched Majid TV, an edutainment channel for children. Showcasing its vast experience in the Arabic TV content production for kids, the Emirati company was presented as one of the key sponsors of this years MIPCOM, and had a special participation within the MIP Junior International Pitch panel in assessing and judging the final applicants for this category, led by principle panellist, Mohamed Yehya, General Manager of Majid Entertainment.
Commenting on the company’s participation in the festival, H.E. Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Media, said: We are very delighted to be part of MIPCOM this year as it represents an ideal platform for Majid Entertainment to present its latest innovative credentials and expertise in the Arabic kids content development industry, targeting a wide base of audiences regionally and internationally.
Among the five finalists was a picture book adapted animation titled The Boy Who Switched off The Sun by Fourth Wall Creative that was chosen from a selection of over 100 projects by Majid Entertainment executives through the MIP Junior Digital Library. The winning entry was chosen during a session moderated by author and consultant Christophe Erbes.
Commenting on their participation, Mohamad Yehya, General Manager of Majid Entertainment said: Weve been impressed with the quality and imagination of this years finalists. It was a very difficult decision in selecting the winner and I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all our finalists for their animations.
Yehya also confirmed Majid Entertainments commitment as sponsor for the next three years and continued: With the launch of Majid Kids TV behind us, we now have an ongoing responsibility to find the most creative and imaginative animators in helping us to produce a versatile, entertaining and educational range of content for our viewers. We believe that MIP Junior International Pitch is a great opportunity to engage such talent.
MIPCOM visitors were able to learn about the latest global industry trends including Majid Entertainments various live programmes such as Ana Zahra Junior, Rehla, Risha and Fodhouli and other company initiatives. Majid Entertainment welcomed visitors at the companys stand in MIPCOM, at Les Palais Des Festivales, P-1, L.68.
