Majid Entertainment has teamed up with seven budding Emirati authors to produce exclusive content for Majid Kids TV.
During an official signing ceremony at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2016 in the presence of Dr Ali Bin Tamim, Board Member of Abu Dhabi Media, it was revealed that the female authors will work together to produce a series of modern storylines that convey authentic Arabic traditions and values.
The move is designed to support the UAEs emerging generation of writers and to ensure that children in the MENA region watching Majid Kids TV are brought safe informative content and the very best meaningful stories, which are relevant to the region.
HE Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Media, said: We are very proud to be supporting this talented group of young female writers and offering them Majid Entertainment outlets to reach children with their storytelling ideas.
Fostering and supporting Emirati writing talent is one of the key objectives of Majid Entertainment. We cant wait to discover the stories that these young women produce for the thousands of Majid fans all over the region.
Todays announcement was made at the Majid Kids TV stand at the annual Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. The fair runs from April 27 to May 3 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Executives from Majid Entertainment, and Abu Dhabi Media, the parent company of Majid Entertainment, revealed details about the partnership.
Afra Al Rashdi, Director of Strategic Marketing and Communication, said: The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair has a special significance as it was during this event last year that we met the authors for the first time and they submitted samples of their work to us. Those pieces were part of their university graduation projects and we were hugely impressed with the scope and quality of their work, therefore were delighted to enter into a formal partnership with them.
Iman Ahmed, one of the Emirati women Authors who signed the contract with Majid entertainment said: “I am really excited to begin working with Majid Kids TV. As writers, it is an important step for us because it will transform our novels from our imagination into visual childrens content for the first time.”
Majid Kids TV has a major presence at this years Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, aimed at promoting reading and introducing children to the world of Majid and his friends. Majid Kids TV was launched in September 2015 due to the increasing popularity of Majid Magazine and Majid comic, which has become a cultural phenomenon deeply embedded across the Arabic-speaking world.
At the stand this year, children are getting the chance to meet the Majid character himself, as well as some of his best-loved friends. Storytelling sessions are being held every morning and in the afternoon.
Majid Kids TV will also honour 10 talented children from around the region who won a competition at last years fair to become the next TV presenters on the channel. Last years book fair had special significance as it was the scene of the Majid Kids TV name unveiling.
Other activities during this years fair include a bike riding challenge to get youngsters fit and healthy, a dedicated reading zone, and screenings of Majid Kids TV programmes on a big screen.
And theres even more great content on Majid Kids TV, after it began airing Nat Geo Kids branded content this week, adding an impressive library of nature, science and wildlife programs to its own informative shows.
