HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) ordered a number of promotions and appointments of DMI staff members yesterday.
According to the directives, Abdul Rehman Al Ali, head of the engineering department at the Media Office of Dubai Government has been appointed advisor for engineering affairs at DMI while Ali Al Hameli will be head of the News Centre at DMI. Other appointments include Mahmoud Al Marzouqi as deputy director of the News Centre at Dubai TV, Ali Al Rumaithi as director of Dubai TV and Sarah Al Jerman as deputy director of Dubai One.
The appointments were announced at a high-level meeting held by DMI’s Higher Media Committee to review the performance over the last year and discuss future plans. The meeting was chaired by Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Director General of the Dubai Governments Media Office and DMI Managing Director, at Meydan Hotel in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai.
DMIs media plans were also reviewed yesterday by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammad had ordered the promotion of a number of directors at departments, television channels and establishments affiliated to the DMI because of their commitment and service to the corporation and the nation.
He also further recommended that DMI recruit young UAE nationals and train them in the media field so that they can join the countrys television and radio networks.
Sheikh Mohammad also ordered that DMI invest in all necessary equipment and OB vans required for the media company to function efficiently.
