MBC Group has announced the upcoming release of Moftaraq Toroq (مفترق طرق), the Arabic adaptation of the critically acclaimed series The Good Wife, licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. Produced by Charisma Group, this Shahid Premiere is set to debut on June 2, marking a milestone as the first Egyptian long-form adaptation series.
Recognised as one of the top 100 series produced in the 21st century, The Good Wife boasts a distinguished legacy with 14 Golden Globe Award nominations and 43 Emmy Award nominations. Now, Arab audiences can experience Moftaraq Toroq, set in the Egyptian milieu.
Moftaraq Toroq introduces a new multithreaded genre of legal procedural drama to the region. The series follows the journey of Amira, a woman who has dedicated 15 years to being a wife and mother, only to face unforeseen challenges when her husband’s scandalous upheaval jeopardises his public position. Amira’s resilience unfolds as she shoulders the responsibilities thrust upon her family, embarking on a profound journey of self-discovery.
Written by Sherif Badreddine and Wael Hamdy, and directed by Ahmad Khaled Moussa and Mohamad Yehya, Moftaraq Toroq features Hend Sabri, Iyad Nassar, Majed Al Masri, Joumana Murad, Noha Abdeen, Huda Al Mufti, Ali Al Tayyeb, Laila Ezz-Alarab, and Mahmoud Al Tayeb.
