The event was attended by major advertisers, executives from some of the worlds best-known film and television production companies, as well as directors from MBC Group and the broadcasters media representation company Choueiri Group.
Ali Jaber, MBC Group TV Director said: Today MBC2 is celebrating its phenomenal success with its partners, led by our viewers and advertisers, a channel that has seen major growth over the years. Since its launch 13 years ago, MBC2 has shown over 6,000 films to our audience of more than 100 million viewers in the Arab world. Meanwhile, on MBC2s official Facebook page, 17 million users have Liked us a token of love and trust while MBC2s Twitter account features around five million followers.
He continued: This gathering comes in light of the continuation of MBC2s contracts with some of Hollywoods biggest international studios, including MGM, Paramount, Marvel, Fox, Eagle and Disney. Its also at a time where we have proudly renewed our agreement with NBCUniversal for the next six years. These agreements confirm that MBC2 will be the only free-to-air platform that continues to show the best, most critically-acclaimed and biggest box-office blockbusters from Hollywood, as well as the worlds best-known classics.
