MBC Group has acquired the licence to air God Save the King, Globos medieval super production, in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Launched during NATPE 2019, the show has been written by Daniel Adjafre and directed by Fabrício Mamberti, and features massive battles, majestic castles and a plot full of betrayal, revenge and romance.
God Save the King is the story of two princes who do not want the throne: one fears becoming the king and the other renounces the crown for the love of a commoner. The show was a hit on Globos Access Prime Time and had approximately 45 million viewers for its last episode.
The telenovela is said to involve meticulous and impressive work in technology, costumes and set design for the building of the kingdoms where the story takes place. To bring the vast hilly fields, horses and carriages to life, God Save the King was shot using visual effects in an indoor facility at Estúdios Globo, in Rio de Janeiro.
