The first season of The Voice Senior, the Arabic edition of the German talent show of the same name, will premiere on MBC1 channel on October 7.
The show, which will air every week on Wednesdays, will have veteran Egyptian artist and head of Egypt’s Musicians Syndicate Hany Shaker, artist Melhem Zain, Moroccan singer Samira Said and Lebanese singer Najwa Karam as jury members.
The Voice Senior is based on the concept of The Voice and The Voice Kids. The participation is only open to elders of age 60 or above, who will face four different phases: the production audition, the blind audition, the knockouts, and the live finale.
Each coach has a team of four competitors out of which two will qualify for the final stage, where each contestant sings a single song, all the way to the last episode that ends with crowning the winner of the first season.
The show had already started filming at the beginning of 2020 but was postponed for more than ten months, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
