This strategic partnership marks a significant step in bringing Arabic series to international audiences, fostering cultural exchange, and setting new standards in global content distribution.
Istanbul-based MediaHub has announced a strategic partnership with Dubai’s DKL Studio, led by former O3 Productions chief Fadi Ismail, to co-produce and distribute Arabic series for the international market.
Fadi Ismail, the founder of DKL Studio, brings more than 30 years of experience in content creation, development, production, and distribution across the Arab media landscape. Known for his innovative approach and commitment to elevating Arab content to international standards, Ismail has been instrumental in producing acclaimed series and films in high-profile projects such as Omar and Saraya Abdeen, which showcased the potential of co-productions and high-production-value content.
Kerim Emrah Turna, the founder of MediaHub, played a pivotal role in bringing Turkish dramas to audiences worldwide during his tenure as Executive Director at Kanal D International. After departing from the company, he founded MediaHub in 2021. Last year, MediaHub launched a co-production venture from the UAE, focusing on Turkish originals.
Kerim Emrah Turna and Fadi Ismail have a long working history, dating back to their corporate days at Kanal D International and MBC, respectively. Ismail played a pivotal role in introducing the Turkish series to the MENA region during his tenure at MBC Group, spearheading the acquisition and adaptation of Turkish content in 2007.
With this new partnership, MediaHub will continue to leverage its distribution network and expertise in curating content for location-specific audiences with a global expansion vision.
Fadi Ismail said: “Arab content has the potential to reach global audiences. Among the hundreds of series produced in the last few years and those that will be produced in the coming years, whether through our co-production initiatives or by many Arab producers, there will increasingly be titles that appeal to international audiences. To distribute globally is not impossible if we are equipped with the right experiences, know-how, and appropriate marketing and sales strategies. Together with our partners at MediaHub, we will crack it.”
Emrah Turna added: “The combination of Fadi Ismail’s extensive experience in the MENA region and our global know-how and access to international markets is bound to create content that will advance high-quality, well-curated Arab content in the global market. We are very much looking forward to all the products that will result from this collaboration of ideas, expertise, and skills.”
