The introduction of 'Tole Bi' and 'Vaccine Against Corruption' in the Asia-Pacific market marks a milestone, with additional diverse content in the pipeline for the future.
MediaHub has announced a licensing agreement to distribute Kazakh content throughout the Asia-Pacific region. This deal marks the first time Kazakh productions will be introduced to an Asia-Pacific audience through a local distributor. The agreement includes two notable titles, Tole Bi and Vaccine Against Corruption, which showcase the diversity and quality of Kazakhstan’s TV and film industry.
Tole Bi, a historical drama, delves into the life of a renowned judge and public figure, while Vaccine Against Corruption uses dark comedy to address contemporary societal issues. These titles demonstrate Kazakh creators’ storytelling and production prowess, promising to resonate with audiences in the Asia-Pacific region.
Commenting on the deal, Sangerim Zhakhina, Sales and Business Development Manager for Asia and CIS, said: “We are extremely pleased to close this deal for licensing Kazakhstani content. We saw great potential in this content, namely in feature films from independent producer Kuralay Anarbekova and from the Sak-Zhebe studio, where the producer is Nureddin Patteev. While Kazakhstani content is actively sold in the CIS countries, this deal has strengthened our ties to larger Asia. We’re looking forward to meeting our clients in person again at notable Asian industry markets such as BCWW and ATF to showcase more of our content.”
