Mediaset España, the parent company of Spanish channels Telecinco and Cuatro, has secured the rights to broadcast the Turkish drama One Love from Global Agency.
Produced by Gold Film, One Love has garnered acclaim on Show TV, achieving impressive ratings and securing distribution deals in 22 countries worldwide.
One Love tells the story of the idealistic Doga, who falls hopelessly in love at university with the charming Fatih, a man from a devout family whose values clash with those of her mother, creating drama as they seek to overcome their differences.
Falling pregnant, Doga’s life plans are turned upside down and her mother is shaken to the core when she refuses to have an abortion and instead marries Fatih. With her devastated mother convinced that religion will doom their marriage, Doga and Fatih face a battle for their love to triumph over this culture clash.
The series features Barış Kılıç, Evrim Alasya, Sıla Türkoğlu, and Dogukan Gungor.
Speaking about the deal, Izzet Pinto, Founder and CEO of Global Agency, said: “One Love was one of the most talked about projects of the season. The most important factors that ensure the success of the series are that it deals with a subject that has never been covered before, and reflects it in a very realistic way. The series explores social differences and proceeds to unite various elements while examining different social issues.”
Pinto concluded: “We signed contracts in many countries around the world. Spain is a very important territory for us. I think the show will be very successful is Spain and trigger many more countries, so sales will accelerate in the coming days together with second season.”
