The upcoming season of 'Shark Tank Dubai' is scheduled to debut on Dubai TV in mid-December 2023, extending its run until Q2-2024.
MEMS, operating within the Choueiri Group as the Exclusive Media Representative for Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), has announced that Dubai TV, DMI’s flagship Satellite TV Channel, will become the new home of the global reality TV series Shark Tank.
Originally launched in 2009 as the American adaptation of the international format Dragons’ Den, a Japanese TV series, Shark Tank revolves around entrepreneurs presenting their business proposals to a panel of five venture capitalists known as “sharks.” These sharks deliberate on whether to invest in the presented ventures. The show has achieved remarkable success worldwide, securing the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Structured Reality Programme four times (2014–2017) within the first four years of the category’s inception. In 2012–13, it also clinched the title of Outstanding Reality Programme.
Shark Tank Dubai is set to continue the series’ renowned tradition, offering a business-focused reality television experience where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their innovative business concepts to a panel of highly successful and influential business titans – the “sharks” from the UAE. The show serves as a valuable platform for local entrepreneurs to secure investments and forge partnerships with the sharks, gaining essential resources and guidance to propel their ventures to new heights.
Speaking on the development, Sarah Al Jarman, Head of TV Channel and Radio – DMI, said: “Aligned with our ongoing commitment to programming excellence and building a better tomorrow for generations to come, Shark Tank Dubai will deliver the pinnacle of entertainment, inspiration and insights to the budding entrepreneurial spirit which has become synonymous with Dubai and the UAE.”
The upcoming season will feature prominent sharks from the UAE’s venture capital and business landscape, including Faisal Juma Belhoul, Founder and Chairman of Ithmar Capital Partners, Amira Sajwani, Founder and CEO of Prypco, Elie Khoury, CEO and Chairman at Vivium Holding, Noor Sweid, CEO at Global Ventures, and Yousef Hamad, Managing Partner at BECO Capital.
Jean Pierre Tannous, Chief Operating Officer of MEMS, stated: “As Dubai TV accelerates towards becoming a leading provider of impactful entertainment offerings in today’s digital age, we are thrilled about the upcoming season of Shark Tank Dubai. It promises not only substantial audience engagement and interaction but also serves as a showcase for Dubai and the UAE as visionary platforms for entrepreneurs.”
The upcoming season of Shark Tank Dubai is scheduled to premiere on Dubai TV in mid-December 2023 and will continue its run through to Q2-2024.
