The Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC), the first and largest popular culture festival in the region, has announced its inaugural short film competition. Celebrating the creativity and stories of aspiring filmmakers in the UAE, the competition is exclusive to UAE residents, and provides a unique platform to highlight local talent.

Participants will also have the chance to connect with a diverse audience of film enthusiasts and potential collaborators.

The 13th edition of MEFCC runs from April 18 – 20, 2025, in Abu Dhabi. It is a showcase of both regional and international entertainment and pop culture including some of the world’s biggest fandoms, franchises and brands in film, TV, sci-fi, anime, manga, comics, collectibles and more.
