Mike Whittaker, technicolor, OSN, Mike Whittaker resigns
Mike Whittaker resigned from his position as VP of broadcast operations at Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) and is due to join Technicolor’s broadcast services business in the UK as VP of Global Broadcast Operations.
<p>Whittaker will be responsible for Technicolor’s broadcast services business, which provides outsource services from ingest, media management, transcoding, subtitling, EPG and playout services in SD and HD to clients in the US, Europe and Asia.</p>
<p>Although Whittaker’s role will not initially be filled, Xavier Willame will join OSN as technical consultant and may eventually take on Whittaker’s role.</p>
<p>An ex-BBC veteran, Whittaker headed the first DVR deployment in the region, the first wide-screen transmission as well as introducing the new OSN HD box.</p>
