This new instalment is set to continue the legacy of the Bridget Jones films.
Miramax, the global film and television studio owned by beIN Media Group and Paramount, has revealed the star-studded cast for the rom-com Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. Based on Helen Fielding’s best-selling novel, this fourth instalment in the beloved franchise is produced by Universal, StudioCanal, and Miramax, with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Jo Wallett of Working Title Films at the helm. Miramax and StudioCanal are also co-financing the film.
Returning to her iconic role, two-time Oscar winner Renée Zellweger will be joined by Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Leo Woodall. New additions to the cast include Isla Fisher, Josette Simon, Nico Parker, and Leila Farzad. Familiar faces such as Sarah Solemani, Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson, and James Callis will reprise their roles as Bridget’s friends, while Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent return as Bridget’s Mum and Dad. Other returning cast members include Celia Imrie, Neil Pearson, and Joanna Scanlan.
Currently in production, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy is directed by Michael Morris, with a screenplay by Helen Fielding, Abi Morgan, and Dan Mazer. Fielding also serves as an executive producer, alongside Amelia Granger and Sarah-Jane Wright.
Set to continue the legacy of the Bridget Jones films, which have collectively grossed over $760m worldwide, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy will premiere internationally, including in the Middle East and North Africa, in cinemas and on Peacock in the US on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025.
