International Emmy Awards has selected Egyptian screenwriter and producer Mohamed Hefzy as its jury member for this year’s edition.

The members of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences travel to more than 25 locations around the world each summer for the semi-final judging tour to select nominees for the International Emmys of the Year. The winners of the 50th International Emmy Awards will be announced on Monday, November 21, 2022, in New York.
The International Emmy Awards judging process is divided into six stages, beginning with the submission of works online, followed by the first round of judging to filter works online from March to May, and finally the semi-final round of judging from June to September to select the nominees. The nominees are announced at various times throughout the year, depending on the award category and ceremony (August and September), then the winners are chosen through a final round of judging, and they are announced at award ceremonies in September and November of each year.
The award-winning producer and screenwriter Mohamed Hefzy has written, produced, and co-produced over 40 feature films in Egypt, the US, the UK, and the Arab world, in addition to TV shows and series. In 2006, he established Film Clinic, which has now become one of Egypt’s and the region’s most important production companies in terms of international market activity. He also founded Film Clinic Indie Distribution (FCID), and is the co-founder of MEEM Creative Circle.
In 2013, Screen International selected him as one of 30 upcoming film industry leaders. In 2016, Hefzy was on the list of “Ten names you need to know in the Arab Film Business.” He was also on Variety’s 500 list of the world’s most important people in the media industry in 2019 and 2020, partly for his role in improving the international prominence of the Cairo International Film Festival. In 2018, the Hollywood Reporter and the Arab Cinema Center recognized him as “Arab Cinema Personality of the Year” and he joined the Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts And Sciences in the “Producers” section in June 2019. In 2021, Hefzy received France’s Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres.
