The winners of the 2020 BAFTAs will be revealed on July 17.
Moroccan actor Youssef Kerkour has received a nomination for the 2020 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), the academy announced on Thursday.
Kerkour is nominated for Best Male Comedy Performance for his role as Sami Ibrahim in the British comedy series Home.
The actor took to Twitter to acknowledge the nomination and said: “Thank you all for your lovely messages this morning. It is a tremendous honour to be nominated in such stellar company.”
Home tells the story of a Syrian refugee, played by Kerkour, who moves in with a British family. The series is written and created by English actor and writer Rufus Jones. Kerkour grew up in Rabat, Morroco and currently resides in London.
The nominations were announced on Thursday, after being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
