The project will feature a museum, a technology and design university, an immersive theatre and over 80 entertainment and cultural venues upon completion, anticipated by the end of 2032.
New Murabba Development Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has revealed the design for the New Murabba Stadium, which will accommodate more than 45,000 spectators. This stadium will serve as a cornerstone for the transformative downtown project “New Murabba” in Riyadh City.
Inspired by the intricate patterns of the native Acacia tree, the design of New Murabba Stadium blends tradition with modern innovation. It will incorporate state-of-the-art sporting technology to provide an immersive and personalised experience for fans. Additionally, the stadium will feature illuminated entry points and shaded communal areas, making it a hub for socialising and community gatherings.
Michael Dyke, CEO of New Murabba Development Company, said: “The New Murabba Stadium embodies our commitment to transforming Riyadh into a global destination for sports and entertainment. The stadium will not only be a world-class venue for sporting events but also a vibrant community hub that enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”
Strategically designed for versatility, the stadium will host a variety of events, including sports, gaming competitions and exhibitions. This adaptability ensures long-term usability and maximises community engagement.
Dyke added: “The New Murabba Stadium is a symbol of Riyadh’s dynamic future. It demonstrates our commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure and experiences that will captivate both local communities and global audiences.”
With its completion expected by the end of 2032, the New Murabba Stadium is poised to become a landmark of Riyadh’s transformation, attracting tourists, fostering community spirit, and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a leader in sports and entertainment.
