Photography enthusiasts attended a National Geographic Abu Dhabi (NGAD) photography workshop on June 11. The workshop was hosted by National Geographic photographer and I am Nat Geo Photographer judge, Laura El Tantawy, at Gulf Photo Plus in Al Quoz.
The workshop marks the mid-season of NGADs newest series, I am Nat Geo Photographer. An entirely local production, I am Nat Geo Photographer was shot in the UAE and features eight contestants from countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Levant. Throughout the six-part series, contestants compete against each other through a series of tasks that take them across the UAE, using their creative and photographic abilities to avoid elimination at the end of each episode.
During the workshop, El Tantawy shared her expertise with the attendees, giving them tips on how to take better portrait pictures. The photographers were then set a challenge, echoing a similar portrait challenge from the I am Nat Geo Photographer series, to test their nearly-learnt skills. El Tantawy then shared her professional feedback and advice on the images taken.
All workshop attendees were presented with a certificate of completion by National Geographic Abu Dhabi.
I am Nat Geo Photographer airs every Wednesday on National Geographic Abu Dhabi at 21:00 KSA/22:00 UAE. Tune in on June 18 to watch the riveting semi-final episode, where the judges will pick their three finalists to compete in the finale!
