National Geographic Kids Abu Dhabi has released Lab Coats and Goggles, a new local series that features science experiments in each episode.
The series reflects National Geographic Kids Abu Dhabi’s mission to “ignite curiosity and inspire exploration, science and adventure in the region’s future generations”.
The 16-episode series is hosted by two young Arab presenters Hadi Al Shimani (14 years) and Yasmina El-Abd (13 years).
Commenting on the series, Al Shimani said: “I really enjoyed my time working at the set with the team and learnt a lot about the different chemical reactions we can make using simple everyday ingredients. I can’t wait to share this show with Arab youth, who will be able to experience science in action. They will learn a lot in a fun and experiential manner.”
El-Abd added: “This show is important to connect with Arab youth and being young Arab presenters ourselves makes it easy for youth to relate to us. I really think this show will appeal to many youth; it will surely help them gain knowledge and get excited about science and technology exploration.”
Each 30-minute episode will feature various topics, ranging from conducting polymer experiments to creating a hologram out of a broken CD and experimenting with different chemical reactions using household items such as soda, eggs, vinegar, and Mentos.
It also features two smaller segments or inserts that exhibits do-it-yourself techniques that help conduct the experiments at home in a safe and entertaining manner.
The series airs at 3 pm UAE time/2 pm KSA time on National Geographic Kids Abu Dhabi.
