Netflix has confirmed new seasons Of ‘The Exchange’, ‘Dubai Bling’, and 'Al Rawabi School for Girls', among others.
Netflix has revealed a lineup of original Arabic-language content for the Middle East and North Africa in 2024, featuring productions from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, and Jordan.
The announcements include the second season of the hit Kuwaiti finance drama, The Exchange, known for its female-driven narrative. Additionally, a third season of the unscripted show Dubai Bling promises a deeper exploration into the lives of existing characters, expanding the “Dubai Bling family.”
Tunisia acting star Dhafer L’Abidine joins the cast of the second season of Hend Sabry’s drama Finding Ola, alongside Sawsan Badr, Hany Adel, Nada Moussa, Mahmoud El Leithy, Acel Ramzy, Omar Sherif, Yasmina El-Abd, and Tarek el Ebiary.
Returning shows include the Jordanian high school drama Al Rawabi School for Girls, led by showrunner and creator Tima Shomali, and co-creators Shirin Kamal and Islam Alshomali.
Netflix also announced the arrival of the new Saudi children’s feature Masameer Junior, inspired by the animated series Masameer County.
The 2024 release slate includes the Kuwaiti romantic comedy Honeymoonish, starring Egypt’s Nour AlGhandour and Kuwaiti star Mahmoud Boushahri. Directed by Elie El Semaan and written by Eiad Saleh, the film is set to release early this year.
The platform is gearing up for the launch of Saudi actress and filmmaker Fatima Al-Banawi’s directorial debut Basma, delving into mental health.
New series scheduled for this year include the Egyptian drama Echoes of the Past, starring Mahmoud Hemida and Asser Yassin, among others, exploring a man’s quest for vengeance in the face of a seemingly accidental incident.
Netflix also introduces a fresh take on the dating show with the unscripted Emirati title Love Is Blind, Habibi.
