Netflix MENA has released Dark Minds, touted as the Arab world’s first true crime docuseries directed by Karim Rahbani. This series marks the first production from SRMG Studios for Asharq Discovery, a free-to-view platform.
The Asharq Discovery original series is written by Samir Farhat and Edmund Hedded, with Alaa Wagdy serving as executive director. The show is produced by Rebecca Maatouk and Fadi Harb.

Across its seven episodes, Dark Minds intertwines stories from six Arab countries—Tunisia, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco. The series begins in the 1980s with the case of a child murderer in the city of Nabeul, Tunisia. It then progresses through the decades, highlighting serial killers from Jordan in the 1990s and cases in Beirut, Giza and Kirkuk in the new millennium.
