The streaming platform will open physical stores to sell merchandise themed around its programming. The company already runs an online store.
Netflix is to venture into retail with the opening of two retail ‘houses’ that will combine merchandise sales with experiences based around its programme library. The first two locations will be established in the United States during 2025, with plans for a later global expansion. The exact locations of the American stores are yet to be revealed.
Speaking on the announcement, Josh Simon, Vice President of Consumer Products at Netflix said: “Netflix House will allow fans to experience their favorite Netflix movies & television shows in new and deeper ways.”
In addition to themed merchandise, there will also be a dining experience that will draw inspiration from some of the streamer’s food-based reality shows ranging from high-end to casual dining. The stores will also feature an obstacle course based on the hit series Squid Games.
