Netflix has released the official trailer for King Of Boys: The Return of The King. The series will release on August 27, 2021.
The seven-part project is Netflix’s first original series from Nigeria and a sequel to the highly acclaimed movie of 2018 titled King of Boys, directed by Kemi Adetiba.
Created by Kemi Adetiba, the political/crime thriller revolves around Eniola Salami’s relentless quest for power. King Of Boys: The Return Of The King kicks off with Eniola’s return to Nigeria after a five-year hiatus.
The gangster’s brazen move forces friends, foes, allies and detractors to show their cards with explosive consequences.
The new installment will see old characters from the original, including actor Toni Tones, who reprises her role as a young Eniola Salami and musician Reminisce as Makanaki.
It also introduces new characters who have a bone to pick with Salami. Among them are seasoned actors Nse Ikpe-Etim and Nollywood heartthrob Richard Mofe Damijo.
The trailer release coincides with the launch of Netflix Nigeria’s Official Facebook Page @NetflixNaija/facebook alongside the recently announced mobile-only monthly subscription plan of 1,200 Naira ($2.91).
