Sony Professional Solutions Middle East, Sony wins Oman HDTV deal, BroadcastPro, Vijaya Cherian
After several months of waiting and long delays in awarding a hotly-contested tender for a full High Definition broadcast facility in Oman, the deal was finally inked between top officials from Oman’s Ministry of Information and Sony Professional Solutions Middle East on November 7, BroadcastPro can reveal.
A high-profile delegation is said to have flown in from Sony’s headquarters in Japan and the UK for the event although details were not available at the time of going to press.
The new HD TV studio complex attracted the attention of a lot of international players as the multi-million dollar project was said to include about 14 new studios at the time the tender was released.
No spokesperson from Oman’s MOI or Sony were available for comment at the time of going to press.
