Netflix has cast Senegal-French actor Omar Sy to star in a new French action-comedy. The film, which is still untitled, began shooting in Paris on March 15 and will also be lensed in the French Alps.
The French film will be a follow-up to the 2012 action comedy On the Other Side of the Tracks, with Sy and Lafitte reprising their roles from the original film.
Sy and Lafitte in the upcoming action-comedy will once again play two cops with very different styles, backgrounds and careers. The unlikely pair is reunited once again for a new investigation that takes them all the way up to the French Alps. What seemed to be a simple drug deal turns out to be a high scale criminal case wrapped in danger and unexpected comedy.
The film will land on Netflix worldwide in 2022. Leterrier will direct the project from a screenplay by Stéphane Kazandjian, and Eric Altmayer and Nicolas Altmayer will produce.
