The top 10 ads on YouTube’s global ad leaderboard for 2020-21 have generated more than 635m global views to date.
YouTube has released a special edition of its Ads Leaderboard for Cannes Lions, featuring the 10 most popular ads on its platform worldwide between June 1, 2020, and May 30, 2021.
These ads represent +635m global views across the whole leaderboard. The top five spots belong to ads from Korea, Egypt, India and the US with Switzerland following, showing that ads are gaining views from all across the globe.
This year, telecom provider Orange Egypt’s Ramadan 2020 ad placed second, making it the only brand from the Middle East region to rank on the leaderboard. The ad was created and distributed by Orange Egypt’s creative agency Leo Burnett and media agency UM.

In the number three spot is Amazon’s ad from this year’s Super Bowl in which Michael B Jordan is imagined as the ideal physical form of Alexa.
Meanwhile, Switzerland Tourism took number seven with its spot released last month, in which tennis star Roger Federer encouraging a reluctant, drama-yearning Robert De Niro to make a film in the drama-free Swiss Alps.
