Orbit Showtime Networks (OSN) channels went off air early morning yesterday and came back to life only last night following a small fire at the pay TV networks facility in Dubai Media City.
Although it was widely rumoured that a battery leak in the UPS room was the main cause of the fire, OSN declined to comment on it stating that the fire was still under investigation.
In the meantime, OSN staff were told that they were not to come to office yesterday and today. It is likely that staff will return to work tomorrow.
OSN issued a statement now stating that broadcast and operations are back to business as usual.
David Butorac, CEO of OSN Orbit Showtime Network said: We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this disruption has caused. Our team at OSN has successfully managed to resolve technical issues and restore our 85 premium channel line-up.
